Combining destroyed skateboards, pension for numeric symbolism and traditional tattoo aesthetic, AKINGBOARDS embarks into a brave new world of deck art.

AKINGBOARDS is Annmarie Koenig, a San Francisco transplant who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The College for Creative Studies of Detroit, Michigan and is currently a Lighting CG Supervisor at PDI/Dreamworks. Annmarie has recently began to produce custom pieces for gallery shows and on a commission basis.

The Ladies Series 1 is a testimony to those years for hot chicks, heartbreaks, undeserving crushes, crazy girlfriends, and bloody valentines. Choosing busted up skateboard decks as her medium they serve as a reminder of the way women roll into our lives, often right over us, crushing our hearts and leaving their wheel skid marks as a permanent reminder.
